We rely on donations to run day-to-day services and activites for the community. This is usually covered by regular donations from the People and Friends of Glamorgannwg, and from proceeds of our markets.
There are also occasions where we save for a paritcular asset, such as our ID card making machine, or a particular campaign or service we want to become involved with, or an event that will assist us in moving our nation forward. Where our funds fall short of covering these extras, we rely upon additinal fundraising.
If we are fundraising for anything specific, this will be detailed below.
Microcon 2023
Microcon is a bi-annual international conference and gathering of Micronationalists. In 2023 it is being held for the first time in Belgium, making it accessible for the Founders of Glamorgannwg to attend.
By enabling our Founders to attend Microcon 2023, we will be able to establish alliances with other micronations, learn from the Founders of longer-standing micronations, share our experiences with others and put Glamorgannwg ID and travel documentation to the test! Microcon also includes a press conference and therefore, by Glamorgannwg being represented at Microcon, it will also give us exposure on an international stage.
In addition, Lloyd, our National Representative for Technology and Development, has been invited to speak at Microcon about how we are planning to use blockchain and cryptocurrency technology in moving our micronation forward!
Projected cost of accommodation, travel and conference tickets have been kept to a minimum. For the 4 Founders, costs are as follows:
Essential Costs: £1,065
Conference tickets: €220 (€55 each) = approx. £195
3 nights accommodation: €825 (house share) = approx. £725
Travel & diesel (eurotunnel and sharing 1 car): £92 + 322.5 miles @ 45ppm = £145
Other Costs (beneficial but not essential, listed in order of importance): £1,005
Extra night accommodation (for comfort and ease of travelling): €275 = approx. £240
Evening Reception: €300 (€75 each) = approx. £265
Food allowance: £500 (£100pp)
