Become a Citizen

Please note that we are currently reassessing our citizenship approval process and structure, and therefore we are only accepting Remote Citizen Applications at present. If you wish to register your interest for when we re-open our Full Citizenship applications, please email us at info@glamorgannwg.org

We accept applications from anywhere in the world, as we consider both our Indigenous Status and Citizen status to be a state of mind rather than being inhabitants of a physical location. We do prefer that you have a genuine interest in what we are and what we are trying to achieve, and this is assessed through the citizen application questions. It is also preferable to have a connection to or interest in our heritage, history and/or the area of Glamorgan, Wales or the ancient Khumri region, but this is not essential.

We currently have two levels of citizenship:

Remote Citizenship

This is for those who aren’t local and wish to support us and connect with us. this is similar to a ‘Citizen in Name Only’ status meaning you do not live in, or local to, the micronation. You can acquire an ID card with this status, sign the Pledge and attend meetings which we occasionally offer online. It is not expected that you will regularly attend meetings, events or help out in person and therefore the application process is less stringent and simplified, which makes it easier to manage especially for overseas citizens.

Full Citizenship

This is for those who are local and wish to regularly attend meetings, events and maybe even volunteer to help. For full citizenship, there is an application process as well as a settling in period so you and we can make sure your values are in alignment with our values and Constitution.

If you do not wish to apply to become a citizen, you can join us as a Friend (which is a supporter who may or may not be interested in future citizenship – no pressure!).

Apply to become a Citizen

Below is a brief summary of the citizenship application process.

1. Educate yourself on what we are and what we stand for

All Citizen applications: You are expected to have read through our website to familiarise yourself with our Constitution and how we run and watched the information videos available. You will also be expected to understand the concepts of the Biological Laws of Nature (information is HERE)

2. Attend our meetings, events and workshops

Full Citizen applications: If you are local and intend to take an active part in our community, you will need to regularly attend a minimum of 8 events, Community Fayres or meetings/workshops. This allows time for us all to get to now each other and to ensure you and we are in alignment. You have the opportunity to ask questions and we can all take time to assess whether citizenship is right for you.

Remote Citizen applications: If you are not local, you can apply for Remote Citizenship without taking part in community activities and events.

3. Complete the Citizen Application Form

The link to the Citizen Application Form, and instructions on how to apply is HERE: Citizen Application Form
The People’s Pledge is HERE: People’s Pledge

Full Citizen applications: If you would like to apply for citizenship after having attended the minimum number of events, download and complete the application form and email it or hand it to a Founder when you request an Appointment for an Approval meeting. This will usually be scheduled before a workshop or meeting.

References: To become a full Citizen, we welcome applications from people who are vouched for* by a current, active citizen. Alternatively, we require a character reference.

If your application is approved, you and 2 Founders sign your People’s Pledge which aligns you with our Constitution, and this is witnessed by 2 other people present (usually the other 2 founders).

You will then become a Provisional Citizen for a period of up to 6 months. If you choose to order an ID card, it will have a short expiry. After your settling in period has been successfully completed, you will become a Full Citizen and then apply for a new ID card.

Remote Citizen applications: Complete and email or post the citizen application form as explained in the covering letter, along with 2 signed and witnessed copies of the People’s Pledge to us. If your application is successful, we will sign and witness your People’s Pledge and return a copy back to you with a letter confirming your citizenship and citizen information, plus an application for ordering an ID card if you wish. This will be sent electronically by email and in paper by Glamorgannwg international post!

Your application will cover members of your household, as you can personally vouch for* your partner and children on your application paperwork. They can sign their own Pledge if they wish, although this is not necessary. If you are local, we would prefer to meet family members you are vouching for at your approval meeting. However, if this is not possible, we would like to meet them informally at some point in future if they are able to attend a workshop or event.

* citizens can vouch for others, and in doing so are stating that they are honest, have good intentions and they understand and are genuinely interested in our mission. Citizens must only make these recommendations after careful consideration and risk poor referrals reflecting on themselves and potentially jeopardising their citizenship.

4. Make a donation to cover our administration costs in processing your application.

We require a donation to cover administration costs and expenses in processing Citizen Applications. There is information on the covering letter of the Application Form. We will not be able to process an application without a donation due to costs involved, as we run as a non-profit organisation. Please indicate the details of your donation on your form so we can link it with your application.

Donations can be made in person by cash at your approval (if you are local) or by bank transfer or card in advance if you are not.

Please note we prefer bank transfer due to the fees involved in taking card payments. Please visit our DONATIONS PAGE for bank transfer information to make a bank transfer or set up a standing order.

Alternatively, you can make a donation or a monthly subscription contribution by credit or debit card through Square, our card payment provider, by clicking the button below (can also pay by Gpay):
