Become a Citizen

We are a micro-nation of Indigenous People, and while we are open to all, there is an approval process to make sure your values are in alignment with our values and Consititution.

If you do not wish to apply to become a citizen, you can join us as a Friend (which is a supporter who may or may not be interested in future citizenship – no pressure!). Citizens will have first opportunity to apply for residential status in the future when we obtain land.

Apply to become a Citizen.

Below is a brief summary of the citizenship application process. We accept applications from anywhere in the world, as we consider both our Indigenous Status and Citizen status to be a state of mind rather than being inhabitants of a physical location. We do prefer that you have a genuine interest in what we are and what we are trying to achieve, and this is assessed through the citizen application questions. It is also preferable to have a connection to or interest in our heritage, history and/or the area of Glamorgan, Wales or the ancient Khumri region, but this is not essential.

1. Educate yourself on what we are and what we stand for

You are expected to have read through our website to familiarise yourself with our Constitution and how we run and watched the information videos available.

If you are local and intend to take an active part in our community, you will ideally have attended one of our Community Market Days or workshops so you have the opportunity to ask questions and meet with the Founders. If you have questions or require assistance, you can ask us at meetings, or we are happy to arrange a private session with you. We also encourage you to attend some regular meetings and workshops so you can get to know the People and the Founders can get to know you.

If you are not local, you can still apply for citizenship without taking part in community activities and events. If you have indicated on your application form that you intend to be taking an active part in the physical community, we may arrange a Zoom call with you to meet you and discuss your application once it is received.

2. Complete the Citizen Application Form

The link to the Citizen Aplication Form, and instructions on how to apply is HERE: Citizen Application Form
The People’s Pledge is HERE: People’s Pledge

If you are local:  Complete and email or post the citizen application form, then contact us to make an Appointment for an Approval meeting. This may be scheduled before a workshop or gathering or on a Community Market day where we have signing up facilities. Once you have been approved, you and 2 Founders sign your People’s Pledge which aligns you with our Constitution, and this is witnessed by 2 other people present (usually the other 2 founders).

If you are not local: Complete and email or post the citizen application form as explained in the covering letter, along with 2 signed and witnessed copies of the People’s Pledge to us. If your application is successful, we will sign and witness your People’s Pledge and return a copy back to you with a letter confirming your citizenship and citizen information, plus an application for ordering an ID card if you wish. This will be sent by Glamorgannwg international post!

Your application will cover members of your household, as you can personally vouch for your partner and children on your application paperwork. They can sign their own Pledge if they wish, although this is not necessary. If you are local, we would prefer to meet family members you are vouching for at your approval meeting. However, if this is not possible, we would like to meet them informally at some point in future if they are able to attend a workshop or event.

3. Make a donation to cover our administration costs in processing your application.

We require a donation to cover administration costs and expenses in processing Citizen Applications. There is information on the covering letter of the Application Form. We will not be able to process an application without a donation due to costs involved, as we run as a non-profit organisation. Please indicate the details of your donation on your form so we can link it with your application.

Donations can be made in person by cash at your approval (if you are local) or by bank transfer or card in advance if you are not. We will also be adding the option of paying by cryptocurrency shortly.

Please note we prefer bank transfer due to the fees involved in taking card payments. Please visit our DONATIONS PAGE for bank transfer information to make a bank transfer or set up a standing order.

Alternatively, you can make a donation or a monthly subscription contribution by credit or debit card through Square, our card payment provider, by clicking the button below (can also pay by Gpay):

You can set up a regular contribution by clicking the amount below that you wish to donate (please contact us if you wish to donate a different amount):

4. Do you wish to have a Private Express Trust?

Many of our People have created a Private Express Trust and signed up with Cymru Community Trust, as this is what can be utilised to offer the protective element of the Community. If you have been to an information event you will already have an insight into how protective the Trust system can be. If not, you may wish to seek more information from Cymru Community Trust by visiting their website www.CymruTrust.net and their associated services at DebtTactics.co.uk and we can also explain this at your approval meeting.

Please let us know if you wish to also have a Private Express Trust so we know which documentation you need to complete at your approval meeting. If you are not sure yet, that is fine as your Trust can be expressed at a later date. If you wish to have a Trust set up and witnessed at your approval, all trustees of that Trust will need to attend.
